Pastor Gayle is a native of Western Pennsylvania who received her call to ordained ministry after moving to Virginia with her husband, Julius and three daughters. While taking the Disciple One Bible study fellow students and pastor recognized her gift as a shepherd. Pastor Gayle worked as a hospice nurse and hospice clinical manager for over 25 years, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., she received a Master of Divinity and is ordained as an Elder in full membership in the Virginia Conference. Prior to being appointed to Mount Horeb, she was active in the Kairos Prison ministry. Now she frequently serves as a spiritual director with the Fredericksburg Walk to Emmaus. Pastor Gayle has a heart toward spiritual formation and as a gardener, is always seeking ways to cultivate growth in the discipleship of others. For Pastor Gayle, music is a major part of worship, both personal and in the body of Christ. She plays the piano, sings, plays guitar (a little) and is learning to play the djembe drum.
